YANKEETRADER CHILI | |
2 lbs. cooked turkey meat Dark and light, cut into thick chunks, 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 inches roughly. 1 Carroll Shelby's chili mix On sale in most supermarkets in small brown paper bag. (Great cheater's shortcut.) 3 tbsp. curry powder 1 tbsp. ginger 2 tsp. allspice "Accent" and salt to taste 3 cut up Idaho potatoes, leave the skins on 2 chopped brown onions 1 chopped red bell pepper, 1 green bell pepper, 1 yellow bell pepper 1 lg. can tomato sauce 1 lg. can chopped tomatoes Ocean Spray cranberry sauce with orange Brown the turkey in a skillet, then put into large pan with the tomato sauce and chopped tomatoes. Add spice to your taste. Brown potatoes in skillet, then brown onions and saute peppers. Add all this to the large pan. Though everything is basically done, the chili should simmer for 30 minutes or so and, this is critical, let it sit and cool off for at least 4 hours! Even better overnight! This allows the flavors to blend and permeate the chili. Serve with cranberry sauce on the side. This is a great topping! |
