HUNGARIAN GOULASH (FRENCH
VERSION!)

This dish is similar to a hamburger stew. By baking everything together the juices from the tomatoes and beef and onion combine and make it VERY flavorful! My family has enjoyed this for many years!

4-5 lb. lean ground beef
4 lb. potatoes (cut into 1/4-inch slices)
1 large onion, thinly sliced
3 (28 oz. ea.) cans stewed tomatoes
garlic powder
salt and pepper, to taste

Spray oil in bottom of large casserole dish or pan. Crumble a layer of RAW ground beef in bottom. Put a layer of RAW onion slices on top of beef. Place a layer of RAW potato slices on top of onions. Spread 3 cans of stewed tomatoes over potatoes. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Repeat layers, ending with stewed tomatoes on top.

Bake at 350°F for 2 hours or until potatoes in middle of casserole are soft.
