MOM'S MEAT LOAF | |
1 tbsp. salad oil 2 med. celery stalks, chopped 1 med. onion, chopped 1 1/2 lb. ground meat for meatloaf (ground beef, pork or veal) 3/4 c. quick cooking or old fashioned oats 1/4 c. chili sauce 1 tbsp. Worcestershire 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 lg. egg Celery leaves for garnish About 1 1/2 hours before serving: 1. In 10 inch skillet over medium heat, in hot salad oil, cook celery and onion until very tender, stirring occasionally. 2. In large bowl, mix ground meat, oats, chili sauce, Worcestershire, salt, egg, celery mixture and 1/4 c. water. 3. In 13 x 9 inch baking pan, shape meat mixture into 9 x 5 inch loaf, pressing firmly. Bake meat loaf in 375 degree oven 1 hour. |
