APPLE BREAD PUDDING AND SAUCE 
1 lb. loaf French bread
2 green apples (cored and chopped)
1/2 c. raisins
6 eggs
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1 qt. milk or half and half
2 tbsp. melted butter

Combine eggs, sugar and flour mixture together until smooth. Add milk and blend well. Set custard in refrigerator.

Butter an 11 3/4 x 7 1/2 x 1 3/4 inch baking pan and line bottom with thin slices of bread. Cover with 1/2 of the apples and raisins and 1/2 of well blended custard mix. Repeat another layer. Top with remaining bread and custard. Drizzle melted butter over top.

Bake at 370 degrees for 45-60 minutes. Custard should be slightly firm. Serve with "Easy Sauce" and sprinkle with ground nutmeg. Serves 12.

"EASY SAUCE":

1/2 c. butter (room temp.)
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
2/3 c. milk
2 eggs (slightly beaten)
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, sugar and cornstarch. Add milk and eggs. Microcook on High 3-6 minutes or until thickened. Stir after 2 minutes and every 1/2 minute thereafter.
