“OLD IVORY'S EGG CUSTARD PIE” IS IN:

OLD IVORY'S EGG CUSTARD PIE 
6 whole eggs
2 cups milk
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Dash salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg or 1 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients in deep mixing bowl and beat until sugar is dissolved. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at 350°F in preheated oven for 45 minutes or until custard is set. Let cool before slicing.

I like to add almond extract. I have learned to get it into the oven, pull out the rack, put in your unfilled crust, then pour the mixture from a pitcher and carefully slide the rack in.

Pull out your oven rack, fill the crust with the mixture poured from a pitcher, then carefully slide your oven rack in. Its good to have a cookie sheet underneath for spills.
