BREAD PUDDING 
2 c. dry bread crumbs
4 c. milk, scalded
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. raisins

Soak bread crumbs in scalded milk until soft. Beat eggs until light. Add sugar, salt, nutmeg, vanilla and raisins. Mix thoroughly with bread mixture. Pour into a greased baking dish and bake for 1 hour in 350 degree oven until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm or cold with any desired sauce.

RUM SAUCE:

2 c. water
1 stick butter
2 tsp. rum extract
1 c. sugar

Boil slowly for 45 minutes. Serve hot over pudding.
