CUSTARD BREAD PUDDING 
1 qt. scalded milk
1 1/2 to 2 c. bread crumbs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. melted butter
2 eggs

Add bread to milk and let soak 15 minutes. Beat eggs slightly. Add sugar and salt to eggs and mix thoroughly. Add milk and bread and last the melted butter and flavoring.

Pour in greased pan or dish and set in pan which contains a little water. Bake slowly for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
