CUSTARD BREAD PUDDING 
2 c. bread crumbs or cubes
1 qt. milk, scalded
2 eggs
1/3 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. butter

Add bread crumbs or cubes to scalded milk. Beat eggs slightly, add the sugar and salt and mix thoroughly. Add milk and bread crumb mixture, desired flavoring and butter and mix well. Pour into a greased 1 1/2 quart baking dish, set in a pan of warm water and bake in a slow oven, 325 degrees for 75 minutes or until a silver knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
