BROWN AND WHITE BARS 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 sq. chocolate
1 c. walnuts
2 c. coconut

Cream butter and sugar. Sift flour and salt and mix with butter mixture. Divide dough in 2 parts. Add 2 squares of chocolate and cup of walnuts to one part. Spread chocolate dough in greased 9 x 13 pan. Add 2 cups coconut to other half. Spread this mixture on top of chocolate. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Frost.

FROSTING:

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
4 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. milk

Remove from heat. Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Spread on cake.
