GRACE'S ITALIAN FRUIT BISCOTTI'S 
1/2 lb. butter, creamed
1 1/4 c. sugar
8 eggs
2 tsp. anise oil
Grated orange rind and juice
5 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. crushed almonds
1/2 c. candied cherries (green and red)

Beat eggs, sugar and anise oil together. Add dry ingredients. Chill dough for 2 hours. Take a handful of dough and shape it similar to a nut roll and flatten with hands. Place in cookie sheet lengthwise and brush with egg yolks and milk. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown. After cool, take out of pans and slice lengthwise and toast then again for 10 minutes.

May be stored in plastic bags in a can or box in a cool place. This is with all cookies.
