6 large eggs, beaten well 6 tsp. baking powder 2 tbsp. cooking oil 1 stick butter, melted 1 c. granulated sugar 1 tbsp. anise flavor 5 to 6 c. flour (do not add all at once) Place the beaten eggs in a large mixing bowl and while the eggs are still beating, add melted butter, oil, anise flavor and last the sugar. Mix until well blended. Use your hands to add the flour and baking powder until well blended. Add sliced almonds and mix until you have a good firm ball. Place on greased cookie sheet in two loaves. Bake at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove cookie from sheet and slice on the diagonal. Place back on cookie sheet and toast in oven until golden brown. Once cooled, you may dip in chocolate. If you dip in chocolate, place on wax paper and place in refrigerator until chocolate hardens. Enjoy. |
