1 baked 9 inch pie shell
3 pts. strawberries, washed and hulled
1 c. sugar
3 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. water
Few drops red food coloring

Mash 1 pint strawberries. Mix sugar and cornstarch in 3 quart saucepan. Stir in water and mashed berries. Cook medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in food coloring. Cool. Fold 2 pints berries into cooled mixture. Pile in pie shell. Chill.
