STRAWBERRY PIE (GLAZED) 
1 qt. strawberries
1 1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. cornstarch
3/4 c. cold water
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. lemon juice
Red food coloring

Bring sugar and water to boiling point over medium heat. Dissolve cornstarch in 3/4 cup cold water and add to syrup mixture. Cook about 10 minutes over low heat or until clear, stirring occasionally. Blend in salt, lemon juice and coloring. Cool slightly. Pour over stemmed, washed strawberries. Mix gently. Pour into baked pie shell and serve with whipped cream.
