COMPANY CASSEROLE | |
1/2 c. wild rice, uncooked 1/2 c. white rice, uncooked 2 cans consomme 1 clove garlic 4 tsp. soy sauce 1 lg. onion 2 c. chopped celery 1/2 lb. mushrooms 1 can chopped water chestnuts 1 lb. cubed veal or beef 1 lb. cubed pork 1/2 c. butter 2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. slivered almonds Saute onion and garlic in butter. Remove from heat and add the meat. Then brown lightly. Put all ingredients, excepting 1 can of consomme and almonds, in a casserole. Cover and bake 2 hours at 350 degrees. Heat other can of consomme. Add to mixture, stir well and bake 1/2 hour longer. Add slivered almonds to top last 5 minutes of cooking. |
