JESSICA'S EASY HOMEMADE APPLE BREAD | |
2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. ginger 1/3 cup salted butter (at room temperature) 1 egg 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup water 1 1/4 cups peeled thinly sliced & chopped apples (I prefer Empire) 1/4 cup almonds, pecans or walnuts (whichever you prefer) pinch of brown sugar & cinnamon, to sprinkle on top of bread (optional) Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and ginger in a bowl. Whisk together and set aside. In a mixing bowl whisk together butter and egg while gradually adding the sugar. Once you have a nice fluffy mixture you should begin to gradually add your flour mixture and your water, mix together using a hand held mixer. Once you've added all of your flour mix and your water add the apples and mix batter for an additional 10 to 15 seconds. Butter or spray a bread pan and sprinkle some flour to keep from sticking and burning. Add mixture to pan. Sprinkle some brown sugar and cinnamon if desired. Place on the middle oven rack.
