BARBECUE SPARE RIBS 
2 strips spare ribs
1 lg. onion, chopped fine
1 lemon, sliced thin

BARBECUE SAUCE:

Salt and pepper
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. celery seed
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
1 c. tomato catsup
2 c. water
Few drops Tabasco sauce

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix barbecue sauce ingredients and bring to boiling point. use to baste meat while roasting. Arrange ribs, meaty side up, in shallow pan (baking). Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper. Add slices of lemon and sprinkle generously with onion. Brown 20 minutes at 450 degrees. Reduce heat to 350 degrees, pour over sauce and roast until tender.

Baste frequently and turn meat occasionally. Baking time is 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Serves 4 to 5.
