BARBECUED COUNTRY STYLE PORK
RIBS

BARBECUE SAUCE:

1/2 c. cooking oil
3/4 c. chopped onion
3/4 c. ketchup
3/4 c. water
1/3 c. lemon juice
3 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. French's prepared mustard
1 tbsp. liquid smoke
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper

Cook onion in oil until soft. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer 15 minutes.

Brown country style pork ribs on rack under broiler. Brown on both sides. This is real important. It gets rid of most of the fat. Place ribs in large baking pan that has a lid. Pour sauce over ribs. Cover. Bake in 350 degree oven for 2 hours or until tender.

I actually screwed up pretty bad because I left my iphone at home when I went to the grocery store so I forgot to get the key ingredient here which is the Worcestershire sauce. So without that I thought I was screwed but what I did was I substituted the Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and mustard with some decent off the shelf BBQ sauce I had bought already. I added water and lemon juice to thin it out then I added sugar and the liquid smoke. It tasted good so I knew it would work out fine. I used a large Pyrex glass baking dish with heavy duty foil to cover it. The meat was so tender it just fell off the bone. The sauce was perfect too. I bet it would have been better had I followed the directions to the letter but you never know. Next time I think I'll add fresh garlic and play around with the ingredients a bit more because that's what makes cooking fun for me anyway. The best part was it was easy to do and EASY clean up which is ALWAYS a plus! Especially for a single guy like me! THANKS!!!!

Very good! My daughter isn't a huge fan of "BBQ" so I was pleasantly surprised when she ate it and said that it was 'really good'. Very easy to make and very little clean-up.
