MEATBALLS IN SAUCE FOR SPAGHETTI 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. dried bread crumbs
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp. minced parsley
1 tbsp. basil, crumbled
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper
2 tbsp. oil
4 c. tomato sauce
1/2 lb. grated Parmesan cheese

Combine the beef, bread crumbs, garlic, parsley, basil, egg, salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly and shape into balls 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Melt the oil in a saucepan. Brown the meatballs lightly on all sides; drain off the fat. Add the tomato sauce, cover and simmer 40 minutes. Serve over spaghetti.
