MEATBALLS

3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
2 sm. cans tomato paste
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. parsley flakes (or fresh parsley)
1 tsp. minced onions
dash of salt
dash of pepper
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 to 2 c. water

Combine all sauce ingredients in large pot and stir.

Meatballs:
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground pork
1/2 lb. ground veal
1 egg
1/2 c. bread crumbs
dash of garlic powder
dash of oregano
dash of minced onion
dash of parsley
dash of salt
dash of pepper

You may use just ground beef. Combine all meatball ingredients in large bowl, mix well and roll into meatballs. Put meatballs into sauce, stir and cover. Simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Stir occasionally.

15 minutes before sauce and meatballs are done, make spaghetti according to directions. (You may use any kind of pasta.) Drain spaghetti. Mix about 1/2 cup of sauce into spaghetti. Place on platter and arrange meatballs around spaghetti. Put remaining sauce in a gravy boat so each person can put their own amount of sauce on. Serves 6 to 8 people.
