RED CABBAGE 
1 med. head red cabbage
1 onion, sliced
4 sliced bacon, diced
1 to 2 apples, peeled and sliced
1 c. water
1/2 c. wine
Vinegar
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. flour (optional)

Slightly fry bacon. Leave in pan. Add cabbage, apples, and onion. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Cover and cook over low heat 40 to 45 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Add flour and stir before serving.
