NECKBONES & BROTH FOR YOUR FAVORITE VEGETABLE | |
This is country cooking at its finest. This broth is OUTSTANDING to use in the preparation of everything from a pot of beans, to cabbage, collards, even potato soup. You will not be able to keep from eating this broth during the cooking process. If broth becomes low (due to your constant dipping into)... continue to add "beef broth" to the pot until you reach desired tenderness of your vegetable of choice. (I now buy beef broth in the large box to have on hand when using this recipe.) 2-4 smoked pork neckbones 2 tbsp. minced garlic 1 onion, diced 3 tbsp. chicken bouillon crushed red pepper flakes, to taste pepper, to taste 1/4 cup red wine vinegar vegetable of choice = beans, cabbage, collards, even potato soup Place first seven ingredients ingredients in large pot. Cover with water. Boil for 1 hour. Add your vegetable of choice - and cook until vegetable is tender. Country cooking at its finest... Once you try this - it will definitely be a keeper for cooking!
