RECIPE COLLECTION
“ALFREDO SAUCE” IS IN:

ALFREDO SAUCE
1/2 cup cream cheese
1 cup milk (0-2%)
3 tbsp. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 clove garlic
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper (more or less, to taste)
3 tbsp. dry parsley or 1/2 cup fresh

The best way to make this consistent is to use a blender. Put cream cheese, milk, Parmesan cheese, garlic, salt and pepper in blender. Blend until there are no clumps, pour into saucepan on medium heat, cook for about 10 minutes. While cooking add parsley (if fresh chop finely) and save some for garnish.

Cook your favorite pasta - I recommend spaghetti. If you want you may add chicken, bacon or any of your favorite meats. I find it goes great with clams.

Pour desired amount over pasta. Cook selected meat in sauce to absorb flavor; If seafood, use a different pan and then add over pasta before pouring Alfredo Sauce.

If you find the original sauce using cream and butter to be too heavy, then this modified, lighter version may be a healthier choice for you.

ENJOY!

Makes 3 or 4 servings.

I've been looking for a good Alfredo recipe for years and finally gave up and started using the stuff in the jar. When I saw cream cheese I was a little weary, but this is definitely the best recipe ever! So quick and easy!

Can this be canned for later use? Thanks Vickey

Hi Vickey,

Since it has dairy (cream cheese) I wouldn't recommend it. It's best to stick with recipes that are designed specifically for canning.
