RUTH'S RAISIN NUT BREAD 
2 c. raisins
2 c. water
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
Dash of salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 c. walnuts, chopped

Combine raisins, water and baking soda. Bring to a boil. When the mixture foams, remove from heat and cool. Beat together eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla. Add raisin mixture, add 1 cup flour with egg mixture and repeat until all flour is added. Fold in nuts. Pour into greased and floured small pans or cans; 6 small or 2 to 3 large. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
