WHOLE WHEAT RAISIN NUT BREAD | |
1 1/2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour 1 c. chopped nuts 1 c. raisins 2 tbsp. melted shortening 1 egg 3/4 c. brown sugar 1 1/2 c. sour milk Sift and mix first 4 ingredients. Add whole wheat flour, raisins and nuts. Combine egg, brown sugar, milk and melted shortening. Add to mix and stir just enough to moisten. Do not beat. Bake in 9 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch loaf pan, greased (or 2 small loaf pans) about 1 hour at 350 degrees. Smaller pans finish in less time. |
