ROUND RAISIN NUT BREAD | |
2 c. raisins 2 c. water 2 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs Dash salt 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3 c. sifted flour 1 c. chopped walnuts 1 1/2 c. sugar Combine raisins, water and soda; bring to a boil. When mixture begins to foam; remove from heat. Cool. Beat together eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla. Add the raisin mixture alternately with flour to egg mixture; fold in nuts. Pour batter into 4 well greased and floured No. 2 cans and bake in moderate oven 350 degrees until done, about 1 hour. Makes 4 (No. 2) cans. |
