BITTER SWEET PECAN BROWNIES 
Makes 16 servings

4 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate, divided
1/2 c. PLUS 1 tsp. butter
2 eggs
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 c. coarsely chopped pecans
1 oz. semisweet chocolate

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease a 9 inch round baking pan. In small saucepan melt 3 squares unsweetened chocolate and 1/2 cup butter over low heat. Cool.

In mixer bowl beat eggs. Add sugar, then melted chocolate. Stir in flour and vanilla. Pour into prepared pan. Sprinkle evenly with nuts; press lightly into batter. Bake 25 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack. Cut into 16 wedges. In saucepan melt 1 square unsweetened chocolate, 1 tsp. butter and semisweet chocolate. Dip outer edge of brownies into chocolate. Let chocolate set before serving.

Makes 16 servings, 200 calories each.
