BROWN SUGAR CAKE 
3/4 lb. butter
1 box light brown sugar, sifted
1/2 c. white sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk
3 c. flour, sifted with 1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped nuts (opt.)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Mix in order given. Bake in greased and floured tube pan 1 1/2 hours. Good plain or iced with caramel frosting.

FROSTING:

2 1/4 c. mixed brown & white sugars
3/4 stick butter
3/4 c. milk

Mix and boil 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly. Beat and spread quickly.
