APPLE DATE ROLL | |
2 c. warm water 2 pkgs. yeast 1/2 c. honey or brown sugar Sprinkle yeast on water and sweetening and stir. Let rest until bubbly. Peel and cube. Boil with 2 tablespoons of water for 10 minutes. 3/4 c. water 1/4 tsp. salt Simmer until dates dissolve and a paste is formed. Combine with apples and let cool. Add to fruit mixture. 2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. soy flour 1/4 c. wheat germ 5 - 7 c. white enriched flour Add to yeast mixture and knead until smooth. Place in oiled bowl. Turn to oil top of dough. Cover and let rise until double. Divide dough in half and roll out each half. Spread each with half of fruit mixture. Roll up tightly and place in loaf pan, or slice like cinnamon rolls. Let rise until almost double. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. 2 loaves. |
