APPLE ROLLS 
1 1/2 c. self rising flour
3 tbsp. shortening
Milk, enough to make dough stiff. Chill while preparing other ingredients.

1 stick butter
2 c. water
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Heat to boiling in oven at 350 degrees. Roll pastry into large square 1/8 inch thick.

3 1/2 c. apples, chopped
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

(I used a little more brown sugar and cinnamon.) Roll up as a jelly roll and cut into slices 1 1/2 inch thick. drop in hot mixture. Cook slow until brown, approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour at 350 degrees.
