OLD-FASHIONED LITHUANIAN CRACKER STUFFING | |
1 c. chopped celery 3/4 c. chopped onion 4 tbsp. butter 2 c. Saltine cracker crumbs 3/4 c. milk 1 beaten egg 1 tbsp. minced parsley 1 tsp. sage 1/4 tsp. thyme 1/2 tsp. salt Dash of pepper Chopped giblets (optional) Cook celery and onions in butter until tender, adding chopped giblets if desired. Add milk to coarsely crushed cracker crumbs. Stir in onion mixture, egg, parsley, sage and thyme, salt and pepper. Mix well. Makes 2 1/2 cups stuffing, enough for 3-4 pound chicken. |
