APPLE ROLLS 
1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
Milk to moisten
3 tbsp. vegetable shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 c. white sugar
2 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. chopped apples
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix together flour, milk and shortening. Chill. Roll flour mixture like you were going to make a large pie crust.

Heat together butter, sugar, water and vanilla. Mix apples, brown sugar and cinnamon together. Put apple mixture on top of flour mixture and roll up like a jelly roll. Cut into 1/2 inch pieces. Use 13x9x2 inch baking pan.

Place heated mixture (liquid) in pan and then lay the 1/2 inch pieces flat in pan. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve hot with ice cream.
