APPLE BREAD WITH TOPPING 
3/4 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. sour milk
3 cups flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups chopped apples

Topping:

4 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. brown sugar
4 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add baking soda dissolved in sour milk; mix well. Add flour, salt and vanilla. Mix in apples. Pour into 2 greased loaf pans. Combine Topping ingredients; spread evenly on batter.

Bake at 325°F for 1 hour or until tests done.
