CRANBERRY CAKE 
1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 pt. sour cream
1 sm. can whole cranberry
1/2 c. walnuts (optional)

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream - ending with dry ingredients. Add vanilla flavoring. Put 1/2 batter in a greased and floured tube pan, then put in 1/2 cranberry, the remaining batter and the rest of the cranberry. Top with nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan.

ICING:

3/4 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tbsp. warm water
1 tsp. almond extract

Dribble icing over cake while warm.
