GERMAN CABBAGE HILL 
6-9 lg. green cabbage leaves, cooked
2 c. rice, cooked
1/2 lb. sausage meat
1/2 lg. onion, chopped
2 c. sauerkraut (add 2 tbsp. caraway seed)
6-9 sausage links (Polish, bratwurst, beer)
3 or 4 smoked ham hocks or smoked pork chops
Salt & pepper to taste
Paprika

Drain cabbage leaves and pat dry. Mix rice, sausage meat, onion, salt and pepper. Fill each leaf with mixture; roll up. Place half of kraut in a large skillet. Top with cabbage rolls and hocks. Cover with remaining kraut. Atop this place the sausage links. Add enough water to cover and simmer covered 2 hours. Add water as needed. Sprinkle with paprika. Serve on large plates piled in a hill.
