OVEN BARBECUED SPARERIBS 
Approximately 4 lbs. spareribs
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. chopped onions
1 c. water
1 c. catsup
2 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. brown sugar
Salt and pepper if needed

I get country-style ribs as they have more meat on them.

Place spareribs on broiler pan - broil in oven, turning to brown on both sides. While browning, melt butter in skillet; add onions; cook until brown. Add rest of ingredients and simmer 20 minutes. Place browned ribs in 9 x 12 inch pan or baking casserole. Pour mixture over ribs. Bake COVERED in 350 degree oven for 1 hour, remove cover and baste with sauce, return to oven UNCOVERED and bake about 1 more hour.
