OVEN BARBECUED SPARERIBS | |
2 1/2 lbs. spareribs 1 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. lemon juice Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place spareribs in baking dish; sprinkle with lemon juice and salt. Cook for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and pour off fat. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees. While ribs are cooking, prepare sauce, below. SAUCE: 1 tsp. salt 2 c. water 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. chili powder 1/4 c. vinegar 1 c. ketchup 1/4 c. brown sugar Pour sauce over meat after initial 20 minutes cooking period and cook for 45 minutes. Pour sauce off meat into bowl and turn meat over; continue cooking 45 minutes more, basting often with sauce. Broil a little to crisp, if desired, then cover with sauce to serve. |
