ICE BOX COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 3/4 c. all purpose flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. pecans

Cream butter and sugar, beat in egg. Sift dry ingredients and add to butter mixture with vanilla and pecans.

Shape dough into long roll about 2" in diameter. Chill until hard. Slice into very thin slices. Bake on greased sheet at 375 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes.
