SANTA'S WHISKERS 
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla or rum flavoring
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. red or green candied cherries, finely chopped
1/2 c. pecans, finely chopped
3/4 c. flaked coconut

Form dough into 8 inch rolls. Roll in flaked coconut to coat outside. Wrap in waxed paper or clear plastic wrap; chill thoroughly. Cut into 1/4 inch slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees about 12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
