TEXAS WEINER SAUCE | |
2 tbsp. oil 1/2 lb. ground beef 2 lg. onions, chopped fine 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste 1 1/2 c. water 3 tbsp. vinegar 1/2 c. sweet pickle relish Dash cayenne pepper or Tabasco sauce Dash Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. chili powder 1 tbsp. prepared mustard 1/4 tsp. black pepper Heat oil in pan. Brown meat and onions; stir to keep meat in small pieces. Stir in tomato paste, water, vinegar, relish, cayenne, Worcestershire, salt. Simmer 25 minutes. Blend in chili powder, mustard, pepper. Simmer 5 minutes more. Serve on hot dogs, in hard rolls or even on hamburgers. Flavor better 24 to 48 hours. Suggest you double recipe. |
