Far better than the usual, pour on the BBQ sauce style smokies. And it's easier than it may appear. Mine were even better, because I drained and dabbed the smokies, then sauteed them to brown before pouring the reduced sauce over them. Recipe does not tell you to buy a 32 oz. Smokies package, but you should. This recipe is even more than you need for the 32 oz. Smokies. I could have added a smaller 16 oz. package and been just fine with one recipe of sauce. The 32 oz. pkg and one recipe of sauce served 9 at an office brunch and 4 of those were men. That may help you determine the amount you'll need.

I make this every year for our friend's big Christmas party and it's huge hit. I usually get 5 packages of smokies, and triple everything else.

The sauce is extremely sweet. I brought some to a party and came back with most of them.

So easy!! For the pineapple juice, I use the juice from a large can of pineapple chunks and then when the sauce starts to thicken, before it bubbles, I add the pineapple chunks. Makes the dish a bit fuller with smokies and pineapple.
