JOHNJOHN'S CLASSIC MEATLOAF 
2 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 eggs
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. salt (I use Kosher)
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tbsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. paprika (Hungarian)
1 tsp. mustard powder
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce (Hunts)

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Mix olive oil and eggs, and then mix all other ingredients except tomato sauce. Press mixture into a greased loaf pan.

Bake, uncovered, at 350°F for 30 minutes to brown meatloaf, then take out of oven and add 1/4-inch of tomato sauce on top. Cover with foil, return to oven and bake for 45 minutes more.

This is a good basic meatloaf that we enjoyed. The only change I made was to add a little brown sugar to the tomato sauce before spreading it on top.
