I used to make this for my kids when they were growing up. Only I used a can of Cheddar Cheese soup and a half a can of milk. Topped casserole with cheese before baking. So good!

I use canned chicken, cream of chicken soup, frozen peas & carrots, and mini tater tots in a 8x8-inch pan.

I made this Tater Tot casserole exactly as written & we thought this was just an average casserole. Tasty, but lacking something. I won't be making this "as is" but may use this as a base recipe with some of the additions recommended in the reviews.

I add sweet peas in mine (or corn). And both ways is awesome!

Since my family doesn't like onion pieces, I use Cream of Onion soup instead of Cream of Celery and onions. I mix the soup, garlic powder, and hamburger together and use an 8x8 pan. This is a go-to recipe. Note: Cream of Onion is hard to find. Try a super store rather than a regular grocery store.)

I used the shredded frozen home fry potatoes and broiled for a great crispness instead of tater tots.

I make this all the time I add a can of string green beans and cook my tots for 15 minutes before I add them to the casserole.

I use most of these addins... but corn is my kids favorite... and cheese on top of course.

I brown ground beef and drain, put back in frying pan. Add some cooked rice and cover with ketchup and stir over low heat once ketchup is warmed ready for serving. This went a long way and my kids liked it. It's real easy just mixed the amount of ingredients to your liking.

I always put a layer of tots on the bottom then kinda smash them into one huge tot. Then add my meat mixture and top with tots and cheese. This way i can cut and pull it out of the pan like a tot lasagna instead of some kinda of mush.

Very good but I add canned, chopped jalapeņos and chopped onion and garlic to the browned meat, Also add a layer of frozen corn over the meat and a layer if shredded cheese over the soup. Then tater tots on top.. Yummy!! Adults only in our house.

I've never been one for creamy casseroles, but my fiance is always waxing poetic about his Mom's great cooking (who now lives 3000 miles away). I used cream of mushroom soup, and added some worchester to ground turkey with onions and garlic. Then green beans in between the soup and tots. So easy for me, and so good for him! I liked it too! :) Thanks!

I found this recipe as I looked for a tater tot casserole that didn't call for cheese (I don't remember cheese in the dishes of my childhood church basements in Minnesota).
I jazzed it up a bit by adding 1/2 lb. of venison sausage to the beef, and 1 can of jalapeno corn. It was a hit at our church potluck yesterday.
