BAKED DOUGHNUT PUFFS 
2 tsp. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/4 c. confectioners' sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. melted butter

Cream shortening, sugar and egg until light and fluffy. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and nutmeg. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Mix well (this will be a stiff dough). Stir in nuts. Drop from tablespoon into well greased small size muffin pans. Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) 20 minutes. Combine confectioners' sugar and cinnamon in paper bag. Dip top of doughnuts in melted butter; shake 2 or 3 at a time in sugar. Yield: 1 dozen.
