APPLE DUMPLINGS 
Here is a recipe that my mother and grandmother used, and I like it very much.

1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
2 c. water

Let come to boil. Add 2 cups sliced apples.

1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
A pinch of salt
3/4 c. cream

Mix and drop in spoonfuls into boiling syrup; cover tightly and boil 20 minutes without lifting lid. Serve hot.
