3 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. vinegar

Beat egg whites until stiff. Very slowly beat in sugar (about 1/2 way through, add sugar and vanilla). Spread in mounds on wax paper on a cookie sheet. Bake in middle of oven at 200 degrees for 30 minutes without opening oven. Turn heat to 250 degrees for another 30 minutes. Fill with fruit (especially good with fresh strawberries) or your favorite filling.
