PORTUGUESE KALE SOUP 
1 lb. Kale
1 lb. potatoes
1 lb. smoked sausage (Linguinca, chorizo or sweet Italian)
1 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped carrots
2 tsp. chopped garlic
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 qts. chicken broth or combination of chicken and beef
3 lbs. chipped tomatoes
1 1/2 c. cooked kidney beans

Strip leaves from Kale and cut diagonally into wide slices. Either mash potatoes against side of pot or puree with broth. Add remaining ingredients and cook until done.
