TEMPURA BATTER | |
3/4 c. flour 1/4 c. cornstarch 1/2 tsp. baking soda Sift together. Stir in 1 cup cold water and 1 egg yolk. Beat egg white until smooth and frothy and stir into batter. Dust fish, chicken, shrimp, squash, cauliflower or anything you want to deep fry, in flour. Dip into Tempura batter and fry in deep fat oil or shortening. Can use green beans, green peppers, cucumbers and carrots. All are good fried. |
