PIGS IN THE BLANKET | |
3 lbs. ground beef 1/2 c. rice, cooked and drained 1/2 tsp. garlic powder Salt and pepper to taste 1 med. onion, chopped 1 lg. head of cabbage 1 can sauerkraut 1 can tomato soup 1 pkg. bacon Mix together ground beef, rice, onion, garlic powder, salt and pepper. form into egg shaped balls. Put cabbage in warm water, remove leaves gently. Roll cabbage around meat mixture after forming balls. Remaining cabbage cut up in bottom of roasting pan. Place cabbage rolls on top of cut up cabbage. Place sauerkraut on top of cabbage rolls. Pour tomato soup over sauerkraut and spread raw bacon on top. add 1 or 1 1/2 cups water over all. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Turn oven down to 200 degrees and let cook all day. I start this early in the morning. |
