BLITZ TORTE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
4 egg yolks
1/2 c. flour
4 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

MERINGUE:

4 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 c. nut meats

FILLING:

1 c. whipped cream
1 c. drained, crushed pineapple
1 1/2 tbsp. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar; add well beaten egg yolks. Mix thoroughly. Add the 1/2 cup flour alternately with milk. Add the 2 tablespoons flour sifted with baking powder and salt; mix well. Pour into two prepared 8" cake tins.

MERINGUE: Beat egg whites stiff; add sugar, cream of tartar and vanilla, spread on top of unbaked layers. Sprinkle nuts on top. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

FILLING: When cake is cooled, spread with filling made of listed ingredients. Spread between layers and on top.
