STRAWBERRY BLITZ TORTE 
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
3 egg yolks, save whites
1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 c. sifted cake flour

Mix in order given and put this batter in two 8 inch layer tins. Next beat the whites and add 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar and 1 cup sugar. Beat again and spread on top of batter and bake in moderate oven for 25 minutes. Put sliced bananas and strawberries between layers. Serve with whipped cream on each piece of dessert and garnish with more strawberries.
